4th German-Israeli Frontiers of Humanities Symposium

The German-Israeli Frontiers of Humanities Symposia (GISFOH) are a series of interdisciplinary binational conferences which are co-organized by the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities (IASH) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. They bring together approx. 50 outstanding young postdoctoral scholars from a wide range of humanistic disciplines (25 each from Germany and Israel). The symposia take place in Germany and in Israel alternately. Funding on the German side is provided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The fourth German-Israeli Frontiers of Humanities Symposium will be held in Potsdam, Germany, from September 9 to 12, 2012.
The conference format allows for the exchange of ideas across disciplinary as well as national boundaries and, at the same time, provides opportunities for future binational collaborations and networking. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation will support such collaborations between German and Israeli participants with its special follow-up program "CONNECT" which allocates residence allowances for working visits in the partner country for up to 30 days.
Participation is by invitation only.

Call for Papers: ‘Social Justice in a Complex Reality'
The 14th Biennial Conference of the International Society for Justice Research (ISJR) will be held on September 9-12, 2012 at COMAS - The College of Management Academic Studies, Israel’s leading academic college.
The Call for Abstracts for speakers and poster presentations is open until the end of January 2012.
Under its general theme, "Social Justice in a Complex Reality," the conference seeks to foster discussion and dialogue within the following sub-themes: 1. Inter-generational justice, including young-old conflicts, future generations, sustainability and ecology, and the future workplace; 2. Inqequality, including legitimation of (in)equality; and 3. Globalization. Additional sub-themes are expected to emerge from the submitted abstracts.
The conference is intended to be an international event with an international and inter- disciplinary array of speakers. The International Society for Justice Research (ISJR) fosters discussions of new ideas, research, and theories relevant to justice phenomena. We are a group of scholars who encourage international and interdisciplinary cooperation in developing justice theory and research (for more information see our homepage: http://isjr.jimdo.com). We encourage the participation of scholars from a diversity of disciplines including social psychology, sociology and anthropology, law, education, philosophy, ethics, social work, and other professionals involved in the study of justice.
COMAS - The College of Management Academic Studies, celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. It offers 13 degrees within eight schools and departments, including business, law, media, economics, computer studies, interior design and behavioral sciences (for further information see http://www.colman.ac.il/english).

THE 20th IPA WORLD CONGRESS
The 20th IPA World Congress will take place between September 4 and 9, 2012 in Eilat –Israel.
The congress will by held in a 5 stars hotel, one of the largest and most exclusive in Eilat. A hotel that has the ability to offer royal hosting together with convention rooms, spaces for exhibitions and presentations and a large hall for a gala evening.

Eilat

How to reach Eilat
Eilat has an airport and it may be reached by connect flight from Ben Gurion airport, on a short flight of 50 minutes. There are many flights during the day operated by two companies. In the neighborhood there is a large airport that receives international flights reaching Eilat directly, mostly charter flights.
The Friendship Week September 9 to 15, 2012
The Friendship Week will open in Eilat. From Eilat we will head north on buses through the desert scenery of the savanna, visit historical and geological sites, such as the Timna mines, Massada and the Dead Sea. Our first stop will be the Dead Sea. One of the most famous and special tourism and recreation resorts in the world , 400 meters below sea level. From the Dead sea we will go to Jerusalem, the 3000 years old city, holly to the Jews, the Christians and the Moslems. Jerusalem with a multitude of sites, history, archeology and holly places. From Jerusalem we will continue North to Nazareth and Tiberia, visit the Sea of Galilee and the holy places for Christians. We will visit the most beautiful natural parks in Israel. We will conclude the friendship week in Tel Aviv, the city with the youngest and most lively spirit in Israel. A city full of recreation, shopping and touring sites, with a most lively and active beach. The end of the friendship week will be marked by a gala evening with the participation of the members of IPA-Israel Presidency and honored guests. A Mediterranean Sea evening as can only be seen in Israel. From Tel Aviv the participants will travel to Ben Gurion airport.
