URGENT ACTION ALERT - Support Levy Report!!! Save Judea and Samaria!

Dear readers,

Once again, I urge you to please take an active part in recognising that by International Law it is legal for Jews to build in Judea and Samaria.  Please sign, send and forward to all other pro-Israel activists. Thank you, Michelle

BACKGROUND:

This month a critical report – The Levy Commission Report – was received by the Prime Minister.

 The report concluded that “… according to international law, Israelis have the legal right to settle in Judea and Samaria and the establishment of settlements cannot in and of itself be considered illegal.”

The Levy Report reaffirms Israel's sovereign rights to Judea and Samaria. Showing weakness at this time by rejecting that Report and Israeli legal claims would send the wrong signal.

It is imperative that the Prime Minister accept this report to provide confirmation of Israel’s right to Judea and Samaria and use it as a basis for policy decisions. It provides the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and the grounds to reconstitute their nation al home in that country.

Send this letter to let the Prime Minister, the Knesset, President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, and Congressional leaders know that you stand behind this important report.  Feel free to modify the letter as you see fit.

I very much wish to underscore how important it is to the United States for you to approve the Levy Commission Report.

The Report establishes the legality of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and determines therefore that Israel is not an "occupying entity."  This means that all advocates have a firm legal basis for support for Israel throughout the Diaspora.

As the United States approaches its November Presidential election, it is my firm conviction that now, more than ever, Americans must stand strongly in support of Israel, our most faithful and strategic ally in the Middle East.  Our mutual battle to win access to the truth and freedom from tyranny is crucial to the future of the free nations of the world that subscribe to liberty, justice and Western ideals rooted in Judeo-Christian values.  These shared values have led us in an unprecedented century of individual liberty and economic growth.

Together with millions of other Americans, I affirm that the Levy Report echoes our vital Western values, and I urge you, Prime Minister Netanyahu, to acknowledge and confirm these facts by endorsing this report.

As world pressure mounts for Israel to abandon its legal claims, former Israel Ambassador to the U.S., Yoram Ettinger, summed up the increasing threats to America which Israel helps to deflect:

1. Criticism of Israel`s unique contribution to American national security; this is all the more obvious against the backdrop of the increasingly violent, fragmented, unpredictable and unreliable, seismic "Arab street";

2. the intensifying threats posed to U.S. economic and national security interests by radical Islam and a nuclear Iran;

3. the withdrawal of the U.S. from Iraq and Afghanistan;

4. Russia`s and China`s rising status in the Middle East;

5. and cuts in the U.S. defense budget.

Confronted with these threats, the U.S. needs Israel, especially at this time, to maintain very strong ideological, military and legal defenses.  Backing away from a strong legal position (by rejecting the Levy Report) and giving away more land would only undermine Israel`s ability to defend, not only itself, but our entire Western Civilization.

What an important role Israel plays on the world stage as the front line against radical Islamic terrorism and nuclear proliferation!

The Levy Report reaffirms Israel`s sovereign rights.  Showing weakness at this time by rejecting that report and Israeli legal claims would send the wrong signal.  Having miraculously won five defensive wars begun by Arab aggression, Israel now needs to send a message of strength to discourage more aggression.  As proven by the Gaza capitulation, forfeiting land only shows weakness and encourages more aggression.

Indeed, I agree with presidential candidate Mitt Romney`s comment during his recent trip to Israel, "It is my firm conviction that the security of Israel is in the vital national security interest of the United States.  And ours is an alliance based not only on shared interests but also on enduring shared values."

Prime Minister Netanyahu, I urge you to approve the Levy Report.  America`s national security interests and values are intertwined with Israel`s and the US needs Israel to stand strong as the front line nation in the war on terror.

Respectfully,
