No Injuries as IDF Force Attacked with Mortars

Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists fired five mortar shells on Monday afternoon at an IDF force that was operating near the Kissufim crossing in central Gaza.

The IDF Spokesman said that there were no physical injuries or damage. The soldiers fired shots towards suspicious areas after the attack.

The terrorists in Hamas-controlled Gaza have upped their attacks in recent days. An Israeli woman suffered light injuries while running for shelter during a Sabbath rocket attack on the city of Sderot.

Terrorists from Gaza fired at least four rockets towards the city throughout the day on Saturday. Three of them exploded in open areas outside the city and the fourth exploded in an open area inside the city. Another two rockets exploded in the Eshkol Regional Council, causing no physical injuries or damages.

On Friday night, terrorists from Gaza shattered the calm of the Sabbath as they fired two rockets which exploded in agricultural areas in the Eshkol Regional Council. There were no physical injuries or property damage.

Last Wednesday, a rocket was fired into Israel from Gaza, striking an open area in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. The Color Red early warning siren sounded in the region. There were no reports of any physical injuries or property damage.

In June, Hamas terrorists fired more than 100 rockets at Israel within several days, eventually announcing they had agreed to an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire. However, the Gaza-based terrorist groups always take advantage of the ‘ceasefires’ to periodically send a reminder to Israelis that they have the ability to fire rockets.

Between 2001 and January 2009, over 8,600 rockets were launched, leading to 28 deaths and several hundred injuries, as well as widespread psychological trauma and disruption of daily life.

Since Israel's Operation Cast Lead in late 2008 and early 2009, an estimated 1,964 rocket and mortar attacks have been launched on Israeli communities from Gaza, with four fatalities and scores of injuries recorded.
