India-Israel Call for Proposals

India and Israel are announcing a new Call for Proposals for joint R&D projects in all technological fields.

The Call is jointly administered by MATIMOP – The Israeli Industry Center for R&D, on behalf of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) of the Ministry of Industry Trade and Labor in Israel, and GITA, the Global Innovation and Technology Alliance, on behalf of the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, in the framework of the India-Israel Initiative for Industrial R&D (i4RD).  

Program Overview:
Joint Indian-Israeli R&D projects can be presented in any area of mutual interest.
Applicants are expected to develop ready-to-market solutions for products, technology-based services or methods which have strong market potential for India and Israel
Companies can receive assistance in partner-matching from MATIMOP and GITA in the framework of the program

Eligibility:
This call is open to all projects based on merit that include science and technology (S&T) development leading to commercial success, social good and benefit to both countries. There is however a specific emphasis on the following technology areas:
Nanoscience / Nanotechnology
Water Management
Non-Conventional Energy Resources (particularly solar)
Biotechnology
Space Science and technology

Eligible Indian Applicants include: researchers and managers representing Indian companies (minimum 51% of Indian ownership), which operate and are headquartered and operate in India (see attached Call Document for more information).
Eligible Israeli Applicants will be R&D performing Israeli registered companies operating in Israel

Financing:
Funding support will be given to each partner by its own Implementing Organisation (GITA in India and MATIMOP in Israel) in accordance with the national laws, rules, regulations and procedures in effect.

In India: Funding will be limited to 50% of the eligible national cost with a limit of US$ 250,000/INR 125 Lakhs (approx) per project on the Indian Side. Industry may receive up to 50% of the eligible national cost of way of soft loan repayable upon successful completion of the project

In Israel: The total funding from the Government of Israel via the OCS, under the i4RD financial support, will not exceed 50% of the eligible and approved costs of the R&D, in accordance with the national laws and regulations.

If you don’t have a partner,  fill out a partner search form. Send it to the program manager (hadas@matimop.org.il)
Have a partner, think you are eligible, and want to apply? Contact the program manager to express interest in applying for the program
Review the Guidelines for Israeli Companies and fill out the Bilateral Cooperation Form. Submit by July 30, 2012.
Once your Bilateral Cooperation Form is approved, you will receive further application instructions.
