Youths Throw Rocks 'because Jews Took Arab Homes'

MKs Michael Ben Ari and Aryeh Eldad (National Union) toured eastern Jerusalem Sunday and spoke to Arabs on the road that leads to the Mount of Olives cemetery, to hear firsthand about the recurrent attacks against Jewish motorists there.

The Arab residents admitted to the Knesset members that youths do indeed attack Jews on the road, and offered several explanations for the phenomenon. For one thing, they said, there are no playgrounds for the children, so they are bored and throw rocks.

Another reason offered was that Jews have bought homes on the Mount of Olives, and the Arabs are angered by this.

Large police forces provided security for the tour, including a helicopter that hovered overhead.
