Houses from Within Tel Aviv is an annual event in which, along with 50 other cities worldwide, Tel Aviv opens some of its most architecturally and historically notable private buildings to the public for one weekend only, as part of the international Open House project. Houses from Within Tel Aviv will include over 140 usually private spaces who will open up to the public on the weekend of May 17-19, 2012. These include a range of buildings – from some of the city’s most famous and iconic, to private homes and studios.
Whilst a full list of participating buildings can be found at the link below, here are some of the highlights of Houses from Within Tel Aviv in 2012.
  • The campus of Tel Aviv University in Ramat Aviv – the campus will be open, but tours with architects will also take place, as well as a series of other events
  • The home of the iconic Tel Aviv artists, Samy D. Moving away from his studio in Neve Tzedek recently, he opens his private studio to the public.
  • The new Israel Conservatory of Music where the architect will be giving tours
  • A number of museums
  • And much much more
To see a full list of participating buildings, see the event website, here: www.batim-il.org. Some venues and tours require pre-booking so do it as soon as possible so as not to miss out.
