Culture of Peace Festival. May 21-24, 2012 - BioMed Israel May 21 – 23, 2012

The Culture of Peace Festival is an annual event in Tel Aviv which features a large variety of cultural events focused around the central theme of peace including a large amount of world music – from North Africa, Ethiopia, Eastern Europe, Israel, and the Palestinians. The 2012 Culture of Peace Festival will take place between May 21 to 24 at the Tzavta Theater in Tel Aviv.

Monday May 21 at 21:00: Opening Event - Legendary Algerian pianist Maurice El Medioni will play alongside the quintet Dialna


Tuesday, May 22 at 21:00: Country songs influenced by the East (Arabic). Featuring Shaked Golan and Shireen Daniel.


Wednesday, May 23 at 21:00: ‘Music on troubled waters’  between the Mediterranean and Black Sea. Featuring Yair Dalal (Israel) and band Trei Parale (Romania). Unique encounter between musician Yair Dalal and this unique world music ensemble, connecting Mediterranean sounds with the Black Sea.


Thursday, May 24 at 21:00: Beta Israel ‘Returning Home’- a musical journey with Ethiopian Israeli singer Esther Rada and her band.
