An Arab terrorist attacked a Jew with an axe in  the area of the Damascus Gate Monday morning. The victim suffered light wounds.

Police have been deployed in a massive manhunt for the Arab. The wounded man is being treated at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. He reportedly was returning from morning prayers at the Western Wall.

Attacks on Jews have escalated in the past several months since the Palestinian Authority decided to bury the “diplomatic process” and then failed in its bid to win international recognition from the United Nations.

Last week, Arabs hurled rocks at Jews travelling through an Arab area to the Western Wall. One man was evacuated to Hadassah Hospital with severe bruises.

The previous day, two young Arabs attacked a soldier, who suffered light wounds. Two weeks ago, an Arab from the Beit Hanina neighborhood stabbed a Jewish soldier on the Jerusalem light rail system.

The day before, two young Arabs attacked an IDF soldier, who was lightly wounded and was evacuated for medical treatment at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Two weeks ago, an Arab from the Beit Hanina neighborhood stabbed a woman soldier on the Jerusalem light rail system. She was treated for moderate injuries, and the terrorist later was arrested.

IDF Catches Arab Heroin Smuggler near Jordan

Source: Arutz Sheva
By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

sraeli soldiers Sunday night foiled an attempt by an Arab from Jordan to smuggle nearly 100 pounds of cocaine and heroin into Israel.

Drugs are one of the main sources of income for terrorists, but the IDF has not said whether the smuggler was a member of a terrorist organization.

Soldiers were on routine patrol at the Jordanian border when they identified the suspect. Trackers caught up with the man and found him with large sacks containing 45 kilograms – 99 pounds – of the drugs.

The IDF established the Arava Regional Brigade nearly two years ago along the 230-kilometer (140-mile)  border with Jordan, replacing Border Police soldiers in the region who were stationed there for the past three years.

The new brigade’s mission, besides stopping terrorists, was to catch dealers of heavy drugs, such as heroin, as well as stopping human trafficking.

Nazareth Imam Convicted of Inciting Terror

Source: Arutz Sheva
By Maayana Miskin

Nazem Abu Salim, imam of the Shihab a-Din mosque in Nazareth, was convicted Sunday of incitement to terrorism and violence, and of support for a terror organization.

Salim, 47, is a popular preacher who often addressed thousands with his Friday sermons. Prosecutors said his ideology is identical to that of Al-Qaeda.

He was arrested in October 2010, and has been under house arrest since.

In addition to promoting his extremist ideology in sermons, Salim was convicted of founding an extremist group called Ansar Allah. The group was declared illegal in July 2011 due to its support for terrorism.

In June 2010 a terrorist cell with Al Qaeda-like ideology was uncovered in Nazareth. The cell had 20 members with varying levels of involvement. Several were convicted of multiple violent crimes, including the murder of taxi driver Yafim Weinstein.

Members of the group were found to have been influenced by Salim’s speeches.

In memory of Yafim Weinstein

Yefim Weinstein Z"L murderd by followers of Israeli Jihadi Sheikh Nazem Abu Salim AKA Abu Osama al-Nasseri has been arrested in Nazaret, Israel, along with an associate. He is the Imam of the Shihab Al-Din Mosque in Nazareth, and heads the "Jama'at Ansar Allah Bayt Al-Maqdis Al-Nasira" organisation.

Murdered by followers of Israeli jihadi Sheikh Nazem Abu Salim

Yefim Weinstein was 54 years old and working as a cab driver in northern Israel when he was murdered by three of the Sheikh's followers in 2009. Two of the killers subsequently fled to Africa, where they were captured crossing the Kenya/Somalia border in an attempt to join up with al-Qaida affiliate al-Shabaab.

Numerous other followers of the Sheikh are already in custody, and the cases feature a mix of real-world and online radicalization, social network building, psychological conditioning, and training. Plots tracing back to Nazareth include a plan to assassinate President Bush (II) in Jerusalem, and a plan to kidnap a Christian man in Nazareth and videotape his murder by decapitation (for subsequent release on jihadi websites). In addition, the Sheikh's followers perpetrated a series of arsons and robberies in and around Nazareth.

The "Jama'at Ansar Allah" has maintained a web presence of its own on-and-off since at least 2004, with sites and documents which they publicize in the leading jihadi forums of the day. The activities of Sheikh Abu Salim were well known within Israel no later than October 2005.

In memory of Yefim Weinstein I would like to offer up three archives from the early days of the "Jama'at Ansar Allah" in the hope that perhaps something can be learned from them in light of subsequent events.
