The second Jerusalem International Marathon will take place on March 16, 2012. Unique in its setting, the Jerusalem Marathon provides a running track which is not only varied in its terrain, but also narrates the story of the city of Jerusalem, over its 3000 year history, provides amazing views, and diffuses some of the city’s unique culture. The marathon features three options: the full marathon, half marathon, and 10km run, meaning there is truly something for almost everybody. The marathon offers a unique way to see a unique city.
The full course of the Jerusalem International Marathon provides runners with an amazing array of sites to soak up ranging from the ancient to the modern. Starting from the Knesset, Israel’s modern day parliament building, the route takes runners past the Supreme Court, Mamilla Mall, the Jerusalem Cinemateque and Theater, the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, as well as the President’s Residence, the Hebrew University, and the Jerusalem German Colony. Its a unique array of modern development and history, and is undoubtedly one of the most interesting places to run in the world.
