The Hamas terrorist rulers of Gaza are claiming that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is planning to leave its territory.
According to a report posted on the terrorist organization's Al-Qassam website, the U.N. agency has begun to cut down its services in Gaza ahead of a quiet plan to relocate to Jordan.
Dr. Essam Odwan, head of the Hamas “refugees department,” told a rally on Sunday rally that UNRWA has said it is facing a budget deficit – although the agency received some $200 million in international funding.
The rally was organized by the Popular Committee for Refugees in Gaza to protest UNRWA'S reduction in services.
Odwan blamed the U.N. agency for the delay in rebuilding homes in Rafiah destroyed during Operation Cast Lead – Israel's three-week counter terrorism mini-war against Hamas in the winter of 2008-2009. This, despite a $70 million donation from Saudi Arabia allocated specifically for the purpose, he claimed.
During the rally, the terrorist organization distributed a statement urging UNRWA to take “serious and practical steps” to break Israel's blockade on the territory, upgrade its services and fight unemployment among “refugees” in Gaza.
Hamas also claimed that although UNRWA says it teaches the importance of human rights to students in the 200 schools and summer camp programs it runs in Gaza, it has deprived its Arab staffers of those same rights.
There have been numerous instances in which Hamas terrorists have stolen food and other items that were brought in through the Gaza crossings for distribution to poor Palestinian Authority Arabs in the region.
