JCCWatch charges: Because Jewish Groups are pressured to Support President Obama, they are refusing to rally against Durban 3 and the UN
JCC Watch.org is charging the leadership of Jewish Groups in New York with political bias because they refuse to organize any protests to the Durban 3 meeting, the Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visit, or the PLO Statehood initiative at the United Nations this coming week.
Richard Allen, the founder of JCCWatch.org stated: "The Jewish Community Relations Council in New York (JCRC) and the Conference of Presidents are misguiding the Jewish People by bringing up every excuse as to why they have not organized an effort to confront the UN. The basic fact is they are fearful that any rally will naturally highlight the deep failure of President Obama's policies on Israel and they want to minimize the ill effects on the Democratic Party. These are the same people who withdrew an invitation to Sarah Palin, after it was extended and accepted, on behalf of organized Jewry, at the first Ahmadinejad UN Rally 3 years ago."
Published reports have been circulating providing various excuses as to why the Jewish Organizations have failed to act. These include the excuse that one name on a long list of Christian supporters of Israel is messianic (he denies that he wants to proselytize Jews), and the excuse that unnamed Israelis asked them to "downplay" Durban 3 and the Ahmadinejad UN protest. In fact, Israel's leaders, which include Yuli Edelstein, Minister of Public Diplomacy and members of Knesset Danny Danon, Ofir Akunis, and Einat Wilf are calling upon everyone to rally on September 21 in front of the UN in support of Israel.
Richard Allen points out that "the CEO of the UJA-Federation of New York, John Ruskay, gave One Million Dollars of Jewish Communal money to the radical George Soros Group "Funders for Jewish Justice". The JCRC, a beneficiary agency of the UJA-Federation sponsors an Annual Breakfast which is practically a Democratic Party fundraiser and political event."
JCCWatch.org calls on the Jewish Leadership in NY to stop their political behavior and concentrate on the concerns of Jewish New Yorkers. It is time that the leaders of our organizations stop using the resources of the Jewish Community to further any political or partisian effort. Our concern should be the welfare of our Community and Israel, not one specific political party. The JCCWatch has one message to Jewish Leadership: Organize and support the Protest at the UN this week.
