Glenn Beck Arrives in Israel to Prep for Jerusalem Rally

Hundreds of American politicians expected to attend the Restoring Courage rally in Jerusalem • Hollywood stars, members of World Likud organization also to visit capital in show of support.

A day after Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas officially announced his intention to submit a bid for Palestinian statehood to the U.N., American broadcaster Glenn Beck arrived in Israel on Saturday to prepare for a special event in support of Israel ahead of September's events.

The Restoring Courage rally is scheduled for August 24th and consists of two separate gatherings, both to be held in Jerusalem. The first will be hosted at the Davidson Center in the Old City, and the second will take place at Safra Square, which is adjacent to Jerusalem's city hall. According to Beck's official website, the goal of the rally is "to demonstrate to the world that Israel does not stand alone...to unite people around the world from all walks of life in standing with Israel, reminding us of the need to have faith, honor and courage in our own lives."

Hundreds of American politicians, along with Jewish and pro-Israel supporters, are expected to attend the gatherings. The event's goal is to garner support for Israel in advance of the political storm it is expected to weather following the expected Palestinian bid in the U.N.

The guest list includes U.S. Senators like Joseph "Joe" Lieberman, Orrin Hatch, Jim DeMint, as well as two  candidates for the Republican presidential nomination.

U.S. congressmen, including Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the highest ranking Jewish member in the U.S. House of Representatives, will join the advocates. Hollywood actors including Jon Voight and Chuck Norris are also set to visit the capital for the occasion.

In addition, hundreds of youth belonging to the World Likud organization, the Likud Party’s wing for global communication and networking, plan to participate in the event, along with World Likud chairman MK Danny Danon.

While in Israel, Beck is set to meet with several senior government officials including Vice Prime Minister Moshe Ya'alon and Ministers MK Yuli Edelstein, MK Daniel Hershkowitz and MK Einat Wilf.
