The Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea and Samaria, General Eitan Dangot, approved on Thursday the entry of medical equipment to Gaza.
The equipment, donated by the Turkish Red Crescent, is intended for use in Gaza hospitals as part of the humanitarian work of the organization.
The Coordinator’s spokesman noted in a statement that the Red Crescent’s work is done on a regular basis and in full coordination with the respective Coordination and Liaison channels.
The entry of the medical equipment, noted the spokesman, was made possible due to the work of the Coordination and Liaison Administration in Gaza which organized the entry of the equipment through the Allenby Bridge and Erez crossing.
The statement also emphasized that the coordination work for the entry of said medical equipment for the Gaza hospitals is made as part of the humanitarian effort towards the civil population in the Gaza strip.
Thursday was the second time in less than a week that Israel allowed entry of medical supplies to Gaza. On Monday, medical equipment to be used by the Jordanian hospital in the Gaza Strip was allowed to enter the region, as well as a turnover of 195 members of the hospital staff.
The convoy included 19 trucks with food and medical supplies for the hospital, as well as five buses carrying the medical staff. Along with the medical supplies and staff, the convoy also included a fuel tanker and a cooling truck for the hospital as well as prefabricated buildings, which will be added to the existing structure and will expand the hospital building by 300 square meters.
Israel continues to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza despite Hamas’ claims that Israel is imposing a siege on the Strip. Israel has continually allowed this aid to enter Gaza, even when terrorists continuously fired rockets from the region at Israeli communities. One such attack took place Thursday evening, when terrorists fired a rocket toward the Eshkol Regional Council.
Gaza remains a flourishing region despite Hamas’ claims of a siege. Its citizens enjoy a bustling modern mall and, more recently, a brand new water park.
