Officials Cautious on Defining Tel Aviv Truck Crash as Terror - TA Attack Victim Recently Engaged - Second Car Attack Suspected

Regional Arabs doing what they do best:

Emergency officials spoke with Arutz Sheva TV at the scene of the truck crash and were cautious when asked to define the incident.

Aviv Morag, 29, has been identified as the fatality in the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv on Sunday morning. Morag was engaged to be married three months ago.

He is survived by his parents, David and Rachel, and by sisters Chen, Gili and Paz.

Aviv was born and raised in Caesarea. He learned in the B'Karem Maharal elementary school and the Hof HaCarmel regional high school. After high school he enlisted in the army, serving in the elite unit Sayeret Moran.

Following his army service he toured abroad, then returned home to Israel, where he worked in his father's electronics business. He was on the phone with his father when the conversation was suddenly cut off. “I thought he went into a meeting,” his father later said.

Workers at the family business saw pictures of the car Aviv had been driving online, and warned David Morag that his son had been in an accident. As David made his way to the hospital, he received a call telling him his son had been killed.

A friend of Aviv's recalled him as spontaneous and fun-loving, with many friends. “He could make friends with anyone, easily,” he said. Aviv's nickname was “Aviv Adventures Inc,” friends said.

Aviv's friends and family rejected claims that the attack Sunday was “a regular accident,” possibly caused by the driver having a stroke. “A 22-year-old man doesn't suddenly have a stroke,” they said. “It makes no sense that he would drive for two kilometers, hitting cars and traffic lights, all due to one stroke.”

Tel Aviv truck rampage.
A second attack by a Muslim behind the wheel of a car was apparently attempted Sunday evening at Jabel Mukaber in eastern Jerusalem.

The driver tried to run over two policemen who were checking vehicles and trying to arrest rioters. The policemen were lightly wounded. They received initial medical assistance on the spot and were then taken away to receive medical attention.

The driver managed to escape but security forces are looking for him.
In the morning, an Arab truck driver drove wildly down a Tel Aviv street, killing one person and wounding 17 others, in what is almost certainly an intentional terror attack.
In Hevron, an IDF officer was lightly hurt Sunday evening from a brick that an Arab threw at him.
South of Bethlehem, neat Beit Umar, Arabs threw rocks at Border Police. One policeman was moderately wounded and two others suffered light wounds.
