In their Own words: "Governor" of Hebron to visit the Moukovi Hamas "security services"

Translation from Arabic to English from an article in the "Palestine" Press, by Michelle Cohen
05/01/2011

Hebron - "Palestine" Press - The "Governor" of Hebron Foul Hamid to visit detainees of Hamas in detention centers with security forces in Hebron.

The "governor" of Hebron, in a press statement, "This visit was to check on the situation of young people who are losing their health after their long hunger strike, to reassure their families to demand of Mr. President Mahmoud Abbas." (To help release them.)

Hamid stressed that the detainees are in good health, but they are still on a hunger strike.  They drink fluids only, and stressed that the health of detainee Muhammad Nairoukh is good.

Hamid described the visit as "good and constructive", and will have a positive effect in the near future, adding: "Our message to Hamas to halt incitement and to stop threatening schemes against the leadership of "power" (PLO). Continuing these arrests will have a negative impact on the "Palestinian" social fabric.  We have a lot of confessions and it is enough to cite what happened in Nablus (Shechem), and other areas in the "West Bank", (Judea and Samaria).  Hamas has to stop provocative campaigns."

The detainees who have been detained in Bethlehem asked a "colleague" to bring them to Hebron, pointing out that the Israeli side refused ordination to move them to the city of Hebron from Bethlehem, threatening arrest.

Footnote: Israel does not want to get involved in these shenanigans between Hamas and Fatah.

It is interesting to note that even though the detainees have been captured by Hamas, this report chooses to imply that Israel is somehow at fault.
