Subject: Kay update

Mira came from TA (Tel Aviv) to visit Kay this afternoon. I took her to the
hospital, but the guard wouldn't let us into the room because the
police investigators were in with her again. I couldn't stay, so went
back home but Mira stayed until she was allowed in. She went in with a
tour guide friend of Kay's who was also waiting.

Kay was very happy to receive them. She said they warmed her heart.
They had only planned to stay a minute, but she kept insisting they
stay. She wanted to tell them the story.

I think it's therapeutic for Kay to talk about it at this point.
Probably one day she'll shut down and not talk, but for now, she needs
to.

We're optimistic that the investigators have info to go on. Very.
Still a gag order in place for this reason.

I knew Kay's lung was punctured, but Mira told me her diaphram as
well. It's pretty holy.

So she will undergo surgery for that tomorrow.

Mira thought Kay looked good and was in good spirits. She was joking
with them. She even offered to get up and make Mira a cup of coffee.
Joke.

She showed Mira a photo of her back. Not pretty.

That's today's update. Oh, she was also able to sleep a little, for
the first time since the attack. She's not getting sleeping pills
because they'll interfere with the other meds she's getting.
