Carter says will deliver new letter from Gilad Schalit

Jammal Al-Karter is attempting, once again, to make Hamas look like the good guys:

The former US president says that senior Hamas man Khaled Mashaal agreed to transfer the letter when the two last met.

In an interview with al-Jazeera on Friday, former US president Jimmy Carter revealed that Hamas has agreed to allow him to transfer a letter from captive soldier Gilad Schalit to his family.

The former president said that senior Hamas man Khaled Mashaal agreed to transfer the letter when the two last met.

Carter told al-Jazeera that he has previously delivered letters between Schalit's family in Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, to be passed to the soldier.

Last month, Hamas said that it will not deliver letters from the family of Gilad Schalit to the abducted IDF soldier, or those from him to them.

The announcement was made by Osama al-Mazini, a Hamas political operative, who also said that there was “nothing new” regarding mediation efforts to reach a prisoner-swap agreement between Hamas and Israel.

“There’s nothing new on this matter and the case is closed until the occupation accepts the just humanitarian demands of the factions that are holding Schalit,” the Hamas official said.
